Shocky Diode

A Shockley diode is a four-layer PNPN semiconductor device that acts as a bistable switch, similar to a thyristor. It consists of alternating P-type and N-type layers, and unlike a thyristor with a gate, it doesn’t have an external gate terminal. Once latched on, it remains on until the current through it drops below a certain threshold, a characteristic shared with other thyristors.
